I met my best friend Alice at university. During my last year there, I was in big trouble. I had to write an important paper. I spent so much time reading and doing research. But my teacher didn't like my paper. I had no idea how to revise it. If I had to start over with a new topic, I wouldn't have enough time to finish the paper. I felt lost and helpless.
One afternoon, Alice visited me with a box of fresh oranges. She wanted to cheer me up, and she knew I loved oranges. We ate the oranges together. Alice encouraged me and told me I could do it. She took time to read through my paper and gave helpful advice. Her support gave me the strength to keep working on my paper. Now, every time I eat an orange, I think of Alice. How lucky I am to have her in my life!

My favourite thing about my best friend Jenny is her sense of humour. Jenny loves telling jokes and always makes me laugh! We took some lessons together at university. I always sat beside her because she helped make lessons fun. Even the most difficult lessons became interesting with Jenny by my side!
Outside class, Jenny brought lots of joy to my life too. She's a great cook and often cooked delicious meals for me while we were at university. These days she takes me to many wonderful small restaurants. I learn so much about food from Jenny. I'm sure we'll be friends forever!
