六、任务型阅读。(2025·江苏盐城景山中学期中)
阅读短文,回答下列问题。
Do you know that some people in Britain live in boats instead of houses? It's expensive to buy a house in Britain. To save money, many people choose to live in the “floating houses”. There are over 35,000 boats on rivers in England and Wales in 2025. Many are people's main homes.

Liam Quinn, a 37-year-old musician, lives happily on a boat for five years in London. “I love waking up to the water and swans. One month, I'm in the heart of the city; the next, I stop next to cows in the countryside,” he says.
A small boat costs between 50,000 pounds (about 456,000 yuan) and 100,000 pounds. That's cheaper than buying a flat in London. In the richest places, the price of a flat is around 600,000 pounds.
But boat life isn't all fun. Quinn has to move his boat every two weeks and clean the toilet every day. Yuck! Still, Quinn loves his watery home. “You learn to fix things and make friends with others. Everyone is friendly and helpful!” he says.
