“Conkers” is a children’s game in the UK. The game started in around 1850. English children collect the conkers (七叶树果) from trees in September and October. They use these conkers to play a game.
You need two players, two conkers and two pieces of string (绳子) about 20 cm long. Each player cuts a hole (洞) in the middle of their conker and puts a piece of string through the hole. The idea is to find the strongest (最硬的) conker.
One player holds up his string with the conker at the bottom (最下部). The other player then hits the first player’s conker as hard as he or she can. Then the first player does the same to the other player’s.
They keep doing this till one conker breaks (破碎). The strongest conker wins (赢得) one game, so it is called a “one-er”. If a “one-er” wins another game, it becomes a “two-er” and so on.
Some schools stop children from playing “Conkers” because they think the game can be dangerous. Now there are online “Conkers” games.
1. How long is the history of the game “Conkers”?
About 175 years.

2. When can the children in the UK play “Conkers”?
In September and October.

3. If a conker wins four games, what does it become?
