Screens(屏幕) are an important part of our life. When you talk about “screen time”, do you know the screens have an effect(影响) on you, especially on 1
your
eyes?
In fact, spending a lot of time 2
looking
at a screen isn't good for you.
But if you have to use a computer for work, what can you do to stay 3
healthy
?
Many eye experts say you should follow the “20—20—20 rule”. This 4
means
taking a 20-second break every 20 minutes to look at something about 20 5
feet
away—that's about 6 metres. This gives your eyes a break and makes them change their focus(聚焦) 6
from
the screen near you to something farther away.
Make sure the screen is the right brightness too. A screen that's too bright 7
or
too dark will make your eyes tired. The idea is to 8
greatly
reduce(减少) the blue light. And to help this, some companies 9
began
to sell blue light glasses a few years ago and they worked.
Sitting at the right distance(距离) from the screen is also 10
a
good idea: you should sit at least 50 centimetres away. If you find you're moving close to the screen and straining(过度使用) your eyes to see, you can try making the words on your screen larger.
