Stargazing(观星) becomes more popular in the suburbs of Beijing. These places are famous for better natural environment and clearer night sky. Now the suburbs welcome a great number of visitors. At the same time, some hoteliers(旅馆老板) find it a good opportunity(机遇) to make money from it. Yang Dong is one of them.
Yang started his stargazing business nearly 2 years ago when he found it a hot trend then. "My hotel rooms were all booked up for the whole of July and August, and there were still many guests asking for booking," said Yang.
Many people from downtown come to Yang's hotel to enjoy stargazing events. They usually put up tents and telescopes(望远镜) in the open field, take photos of the starry sky, and talk about their stargazing stories. "It's really amazing! I can see clearly the Milky Way(银河) and the Big Dipper(北斗七星).
I saw them only in books before," said a stargazer.
To offer them a better stargazing experience, Yang built 20 "star tents". All these tents are like hotel rooms, and a stargazer pays 600 to 800 yuan for each tent per night.
Now, the government offers a guide to stargazing tourism. Yang sees this and thinks his business will be long-lasting. "People always have a strong desire to look up the beauty of the night sky," said Yang.
