One unlucky day, I made a serious mistake. Attracted by a pack of hair ribbons in a store, I couldn't help stealing them. Immediately, a guard caught me in the act. He had a serious look on his face and shouted, "Come with me!" I was really frightened, and my heart was beating fast.
In the store's office, he stared at me angrily and said, "Give them to me, or I'll take them. What's your choice?" Shaking, I took out the ribbons from my jeans. "Please don't call my dad," I said with tears. But he replied, "I'm calling the police, and they'll tell your father."
At the police station, fear and shame filled me. I kept thinking, "How could I be so stupid! I must let my father down!" When Dad arrived, his sad, cold voice cut through me like a knife, "My daughter... a thief..."
Back home, Dad sat me down. "Why did you do this?" he asked, and his eyes were filled with pain. I cried and told him everything. He listened silently and then said, "List all the things that you stole. This is your only chance to be forgiven."
The next day, we visited each place on the list. I was terribly nervous when talking to the managers. "I'm really sorry. I stole from your store," I said, my voice shaking. After paying them the money, I felt a huge weight lifted off my shoulders.
That summer, I worked hard to pay Dad back. This experience was tough, but it taught me a valuable lesson about honesty. I'll always remember this and stay on the right way.
