A
In my free
time, I read the book Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, a widely beloved British children's book by Lewis Carroll. With its tales and riddles (神秘事件), it became one of the most popular works of English-language fiction. It brought me into the world of fairy tales and made me feel the dreamlike charm of fairy tales.
The story centres on Alice, a young girl. She was curious to see the White Rabbit dressed in clothes and holding a pocket watch. Led by her curiosity, she discovered an amazing fairy-tale kingdom. During this journey, she changed her size from time to time—she grew as tall as a house and
shrank to three inches. Later, she met a lot of strange characters, including the rude Red Queen and the kind-hearted White Queen.
With the help of others, she successfully beat her enemy Jabberwock, a ferocious (凶猛的) monster. She ended the Red Queen's rule and returned the kingdom to its happy and hopeful state. In my opinion, Alice is a nice girl who faces hard times bravely.
At the beginning of the story, when Alice fell into the hole, I thought that she would just cry and didn't know what to do. However, I was wrong. Instead, she showed her strong and hopeful side to the readers. When Alice met the Red Queen and her card soldiers, she showed her cleverness and bravery.
The growth of her character made me realize that when we face hard times, we cannot run away. Only when we face our own problems can we solve them.
