①China's 15th National Games opened grandly at the Guangdong Olympic Sports Centre on November 9, 2025, and ended on November 21. It was the first National Games co-hosted by Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, making it a special event in sports history.
②With the theme “Passionate National Games, Vibrant Greater Bay Area”, the opening ceremony was wonderful. It mixed traditional culture and modern technology well. There was a big circular(圆形的)water stage, and robots played ancient musical instruments(乐器). Performances like Lingnan martial arts and Cantonese opera(粤剧)showed local culture.
③The torch-lighting(点火炬)part was creative. The flame came from combustible ice(可燃冰)under the South China Sea, and the main torch tower used technology to make a “green” flame, showing the idea of environmental protection. There were 43 competitive sports events, and new swimming events were added to match the Olympic Games.
④The Games cared about everyone's participation(参与). There were 23 mass sports events like the dragon dance and t'ai chi. Over 14,000 athletes joined in competitive events, and about 11,000 ordinary people took part in mass events. The mascots, based on Chinese white dolphins, and the emblem(徽章)with three kinds of flowers became symbols of the event.
