(2025·上海二模改编) Before the vacation, Finn tried to get a cell phone from his parents. But Mrs Fogg just gave him an old digital camera. Finn had no choice but to take it.
The Foggs spent their first day in Paris at the Louvre Museum. They saw a thousand works of art, including the Mona Lisa. What Finn enjoyed most, though, was watching a young woman sketching (给……画素描) the famous painting. Finn asked if they could take a photo together. The woman smiled warmly as he took their picture. Finn found his sister and said, "This lady is amazing. You should see her work!"
Franny's eyes were stuck on her phone, though. "Not now," she said. "This video about Leonardo da Vinci is so, so great!"
The next day, the Foggs ate at an outdoor café near the River Seine. The waiter brought dessert. "The cake is delicious!" Finn exclaimed.
"That is crème brûlée (焦糖布丁)," the waiter said. Finn asked the waiter to take a picture of him posing with his new favourite dessert.
"Oooh, look at this recipe (食谱) for crème brûlée," Mrs Fogg said, checking her phone. "I'll make it when we get home." By the time she put her phone down, the waiter had cleared their plates and it was time to leave. "What a pity!" Mrs Fogg complained.
On the last day of the trip, the Foggs went to the Eiffel Tower. Finn used his camera to shoot a video of them rising above the city in the glass elevator. "Look, Dad! We can see Notre Dame Cathedral from here!"
Mr Fogg was looking at his phone, however. "Did you know there's a replica (复制品) of the Eiffel Tower in Las Vegas? But it's only half-size!" Finn sighed (叹气).
On the flight home the next morning, Finn sat next to Franny. "That was the best vacation ever," he said.
He was looking through his photos and videos. Franny was looking over his shoulder. "Did we go there?" she asked, pointing at a photo.
"Of course," Finn replied. "The Arc de Triomphe." Finn showed a family photo he had taken. In the photo, Mr Fogg, Mrs Fogg and Franny were all standing in front of the Arc de Triomphe—staring at their phones.
Mrs Fogg looked at the photo and sighed, "We really missed a lot, didn't we?"
