Welcome to the International Exhibition of Inventions! Today, I have two teenager inventors, Paula and Liam, with me. Their inventions are excellent. Let's take a look.
Can you introduce your inventions?
Paula: I made a ROV. It can move through water and pick up plastic pieces, especially small ones.
Liam: I developed a robotic drone(无人机). It can fly over forests, discover unusual heat and send signals(信号)to fire stations.
What is the most creative part of your inventions?
Paula: Well, it has a camera with different kinds of light. It can find plastic pieces easily.
Liam: My drone has its AI system. It can tell the difference between dangerous wildfire and usual heat sources, like the sun or camp fires.
How did you get the idea to start your inventions?
Paula: One day, I was walking along the beach. I found lots of plastic pieces in the sea and some were too small to pick up. I began to think about how to solve the problem.
Liam: While I was hiking in the mountains last year, I saw the terrible effects of wildfire. Burned trees and land made me feel heartbroken, so I decided to do something about it.
Paula: I want to be an engineer and I wish many problems can be solved with my new inventions.
Liam: I don't know exactly what job I'll choose, but I know it will be about protecting the environment.
