Students at Kensington Wade School in England speak English for half
of their school days and Chinese for the other half.
On Chinese−speaking days,subjects 1 Maths,Science and Art,

are given in Chinese by Chinese−speaking. 2 .
The “ Half English,Half Chinese ” study makes this school the 3
and only bilingual(双语的)English−Chinese school in England.
The school has about 100 students,aged. 4 3 and 11.They 5 different countries.
When the school opened in 2017,there were just 15 children.
“ We took the 6 to start the school because we felt there was a great need to give
children the ability(能力)to speak,live and work in a world where China plays a really
important 7 ," said Jo Wallace,the school's head teacher.
" What makes Kensington Wade 8 is its language teaching way," Jo Wallace said.In
the 9 class,the Yangtze River,China's longest river,is compared(对比)with the Nile in
Africa(非洲).“ Children know the world is not a one−man story,and they will use that kind of
ability to 10 themselves know more about the world," Jo Wallace said.
