The Mid-Autumn Festival was coming, but Mrs Lin was unhappy. She was 500 kilometres away from her parents. It was so far that she couldn't spend the festival with them. On the festival morning, she called her parents and wished them a happy Mid-Autumn Festival.
Later that day, Mrs Lin and her husband (丈夫) took their two children to the old people's home. They brought lots of beautiful flowers, food and drinks to the old people there. Mrs Lin cooked delicious food for the old people. Her husband had nice talks with them. The children sang and danced for the old people. The old people told funny stories. Then they had a great dinner and all of them were happy! When the old people got the flowers, they thanked Mrs Lin and her family.
On their way home, Mrs Lin's children asked her, "Why did we go to the old people's home today?" Mrs Lin said, "It's the Mid-Autumn Festival, and some old people there don't have children. I have both of you. What we did today means (意味着) a lot to them."
