We usually play games for fun, relaxation and even to kill time. However, one student found a creative way to use video games.
Wu Hele, 17, a senior student from Jinling High School in Nanjing, prepared a gift for his school—he built his school in the game Minecraft. It is a game that allows players to design landscapes and buildings in all different types of locations with different materials.
For Wu, building the school in a digital (数码的) way was not just a sudden idea. After his first visit to the school, Wu decided to do that. However, this was not what could be done in a day. During his three years in high school, Wu carefully planned his time. After finishing his homework or exercises, he always walked around the school with a notebook. "I measured all the corners by estimation (估计) or counting footsteps. I also drew sketches (草图). When I played the game, I built the school based on my sketches," he told the Beijing Evening News.
His hard work paid off. Almost all of the places of Jinling High School were rebuilt in the game. Players can visit the classrooms, gyms and office buildings and view the detailed decorations inside. Even the cat living in the school can be seen running downstairs in the teaching building just like in real life.
