四、阅读理解
Tang Zhijun who works for a science fiction(科幻)magazine is crazy about finding signs of aliens(外星人). He goes to the countryside in South-west China with a drunk,a girl and an office worker. Tang's big moment comes when they meet a young poet in a village who says he can contact aliens.
This is the story in the Chinese science fiction film *Journey to the West*(《宇宙探索编辑部》). Two reporters watched the film and shared their opinions.
Q:▲
Gui:Different from many Chinese sci-fi films with amazing ideas about science,*Journey to the West* is a low-cost film without big scenes but with more themes. This makes me curious about the possible changes of soft sci-fi films.
House:I grew up in the 1990s in the UK. Back then everyone seemed crazy about aliens and UFOs. So I was glad to see this also became a subject of interest in China.
Q:What do you think is the most attractive part in the film?
Gui:There are many funny moments, making it less serious. But the film has a literary(文学的)side. The film shares the same title as the classical novel by Wu Cheng'en in China. The lead roles in the film are like the master and his three apprentices. Tang's search for aliens and truth is like a modern *Odyssey*(《奥德赛》).
House:I really like the sci-fi designs. Tang is so crazy about the UFOs and as the film goes on,you will get the attraction of his thoughts and feelings about UFOs.
Q:There are many poems in this film. Do you think this film is poetic(富有诗意的)?
Gui:These poems allow the film not only to look out into space but also to dig deep into humans' hearts. They also make me think about the meaning of life.
House:I would say the film is very poetic. Some of the poems' meanings went over my head but I don't think that is important. Also, the true meaning is hidden in poems and viewers can share their personal understanding. This fits with one of the themes of the film — exploring(探索)the unknown.
