四、阅读理解
Today I went to Sam's school in the UK. It was really different from my school in China.
Girls wore grey skirts and white shirts, boys wore grey trousers, and everyone wore the school tie(领带).
Some of Sam's lessons were a little strange(陌生的)for me. We were reading Shakespeare in the English lesson, and there were quite some old words like "thou" and "thee" to mean "you". In the History lesson,we studied the 20th-century(世纪)China. It was strange hearing a foreign(外国的)side of Chinese history and hearing English people trying to say all our Chinese names!
Classes were interesting and full of fun. Teachers were called "sir" or "miss". Everyone shouted answers and put up their hands in classes. It was more like a debate(讨论)than a class. A bell rang(响起铃声)at the end of each lesson, and everyone jumped up to go to the next class.
Between classes,we bought potato chips(炸薯条)and cookies in the dining room. Lunch was at 1 p.m.,later than in China. We had big plates of pie with carrots.
It was good that I had a good lunch, because at Sam's school, students always play sports on Monday afternoons.
I played my first game of netball — a little like basketball, but with some differences. I had a few tries. It was fun.
