Tom wears a big smile on his face. Right now he's swimming in the sea. It's his best thing. Tom feels the water on his back and on his legs and just then he feels a big fish rubbing (摩擦) on his right arm. "Ahhhh," he says. "That's nice. What's your name? Can you speak?"
Tom hears laughter of kids first, then, "My name is Mrs Potter! As you know! Tom, wake up. Don't daydream!"
Tom opens his eyes and looks up. Mrs Potter, his teacher, is tapping (轻

) his arm, saying, "No play time for you today, Tom. You can help me clean the classroom."
Tom sighs (叹气) and looks across the classroom at May. Yesterday he promised (承诺) to play ping-pong with her. May is very good at ping-pong. It's her best thing. She wants to practise for the School Sports Day. "Isn't it nice?" he thinks. "Everybody has a best thing." Then he looks at Mrs Potter and thinks, "She's very kind. She's the best teacher ever!"
Tom looks at May again. He can't see her face but he knows she's sad. "I need a plan," he thinks. "Mrs Potter always tells us we should help each other."
