Tao got to Shanghai in 1990. He was a good tailor (裁缝) and he made clothes for teachers and students. 2.

But then more and more people began to wear clothes from other countries. Tao had to find another way to make a living (生存).
Tao found that the size and cuttings of those clothes were usually made for foreigners (外国人). 3.

So, altering (修改) clothes became his new way out.
Tao got a lot of orders (订单), and often worked for long hours. 4.

Tao said, "How can young people become great designers if they know nothing about making clothes? We should give more chances (机会) an young designers to learn and practise."
