Want to meet some kids who use their hobbies to help others? Let's get to know a few.
First is Jonah Larson. The 11 - year - old boy is great at doing crochet (钩针织物). He makes blankets, hats, sweaters and other woolly things. Even better, Jonah uses his skills to help people. He has a company (公司) called Jonah's Hands. He sells (出售) his works. And he gives away some of the money he makes. It goes to an orphanage in Ethiopia. The orphanage was his home when he was little. All of his friends there have no parents and lived a difficult life before. Jonah also raises (筹集) money for a school library near there.
Jonah is not the only kid helping others. Bria Neff is a 12 - year - old artist. Bria makes paintings of endangered (濒危的) animals because she is worried about them and wants to save them in her own way. Her project (项目) is called Faces of the Endangered. She sells her artwork. Does she keep the money? No! She gives it to different groups. These groups work to save animals and their homes. She has given more than 70 000!
Sebastian and Brandon Martinez are brothers from Florida, the USA. The brothers have a company. It's called Are You Kidding. The brothers like making fun socks. They make money and give it to charities (慈善机构) to help people. Sebastian and Brandon Martinez's socks are so fun and lovely that many people like wearing them. Knowing that the money the brothers make will go to charities, people are more than happy to buy a few more!
