Reading made reality
There's a saying that goes "reading makes a full man". I think it's true. Recently, a unique reality show called Reading on the Island popped into my view, which I found to be very attractive and interesting. It's a reading show where three masters of literature are invited to join the show. The host is a travel blogger.
In the show, they talk about their reflections on reading. At the end of each episode, they also recommend a list of classic books to the audience. In addition, some of their old friends are invited as guests to the show. The show is relaxing and pleasant as they talk about why they like literature, how they first found themselves on the path of enjoying literature and becoming writers, and some great memories from the past.
Through this show, you can get different ideas about literature. For example, when talking about waves beating on the rocks, the host describes the waves as "transparent, like jelly". Meanwhile, a guest uses beautiful words such as "when the waves beat the rocks, an encounter occurs. And then another encounter. And this goes on and on".
I also really like their reading location. They sit by the window as they read. Just imagine: a good book in hand and a cup of tea on the table, listening to the sound of steamships drifting away as the waves crash onto the shore, and enjoying nature's beauty all the while. This is indeed the ideal bookstore.
This programme is presented in a slow way. After its first broadcast, the show has since received many favourable comments. The ideal bookstore shows that, in today's noisy, fast-paced life, you can get some peace and comfort just by reading for a while. It's wonderful to have such a reading programme that lets us explore the true meaning of reading. Reading enables you to enrich your spiritual world. Furthermore, reading good books can bring you new thoughts and insights into the world. I'm sure that through this show, you will gradually fall in love with reading.
