The 2025 Asian Winter Games were in Harbin, China! The city is popular for (it) icy views these years. Many people think it is perfect place for the Winter Games.
The Games were February 7 to 14. The mascots(吉祥物) are two cute tigers—Binbin and Nini. The (mean) of their names is “Welcome to Harbin”. Binbin (enjoy) skating and he is in a blue and white jacket. Nini can ski (good) and she wears a red coat.
Athletes(运动员) from Asia got together to take part in sports like skiing and (skate). Some of these sports were fast and difficult, the athletes might fall and get hurt sometimes. To help them, there were special doctors called “ski doctors”. They needed to ski fast to reach any athlete who got hurt in three minutes.
During the Games, we also got to enjoy cultural shows and other fun (activity). We all (cheer) for Team China and enjoyed this fantastic event!

To celebrate Lidong, people have many colourful (activity) that light up the cold days. One of the most popular customs(习俗) is to have big meal. Eating well helps people have energy to spend the cold (snow) days in winter and prepare for the coming spring. In the north, people enjoy (have) dumplings. The Chinese word for dumplings, jiaozi, has a similar pronunciation(发音) to the Chinese word “jiaozi”, which (mean) celebrating the change from autumn to winter. While in the south, people (usual) eat chicken, duck and fish.
In the history, Lidong was also a time for people (keep) vegetables. In the past, there (be) not many fresh vegetables to eat in winter. Therefore, around Lidong, some people in the north began to keep vegetables like cabbages onions. However, most people buy fresh vegetables in the supermarket today.
